- About our location:
The studio:
We are situated in Tower works a thriving creative community surrounded by 19 other creative companies such as illustrators and photographers and so other creatives are less than a stone throw away. Tower works joins the Liverpool and Leeds canal together creating a productive, scenic public space on Granary Wharf, neighbouring other innovative audiences such as The Round Foundry home of elmwood. Only 8 minutes from the train station and with affordable parking close by for £3.50 a day, Tower works is the perfect location for commuters.
Printers:
Pavillion promotional is the printers we will be partnering with to print all of our projects, only 2 miles away the printers is within easy reach via bus, car, or walking. Pavillion are not only conveniently located but also print a large range of printed collateral from smaller POS items such as business cards and leaflets, to larger items such as signage/exhibition spaces and clothing.
Manifesto:
We are fresh, we are innovative, we are zesty, we are up for the challenge, we deliver mind-blowing concepts and design for web and print each time, every time. We are the brains of branding paving the ways for companies in need of a new personality, touch up or new look all together. We aim for the top, and create in a friendly, inventive environment, and when we do it. We do it Sublime.
The services we provide:
In our five strong team we envelop a wide range of services including In-house web/app design, development and hosting, building a brand from scratch, custom illustration, product and packaging and editorial and environmental design. We jump into work from all over the commercial industry including, travel and tourism, local businesses, technology, radio, food and health and fitness. Whatever the inquiry we had the squad to smash the order.

LOGO DESIGNS.
We all had a go a branding the company by creating a collection of diverse logos. The theme for the company had orginally derived from a lime and white colour scheme we had seen, which is where we came up with the name SUBLIME. This name pairs both our colour combination with our excellence of work.
For the first couple of logo designs I tried to repsresent the companies personality quite heavily by creating quite a fun and comical representation of the word Sublime. Our company is quite laid back, easy to work with, and with our large range of employee benifits and themed days such as Krispy kremes on mondays and duvet days on yoga Sublime is a fun place to work at. I also thought that a logo such as this would make us stand out from other studios due to its unique and individual appeal.
I tried the submarine lime in a couple of different colour combinations, however I think the first is more appropriate as it uses the colours of the real life fruit.
For the next logo I created a simple geometric line drawing of a cut through line. Here I was just experimenting with different motifs. I don't particularly think that design fits with or offers anything to our design studios. Also as a group we began to worry that by incorporating such a large fruit drawing into the logo, it was beginning to look like something that would represent a juice drink rather than a design studio.
To Combat the previous Issue I tried to make a logo that spoke about us being creatively involved and emphasised that we were a design studio. Here, I added a pencil into the design as this is a tool used for drawing. I also added a leaf ontop of the pencil to replace the, I felt this strayed away from the aesthetic that made the logo appear like branding for a juice drink.
I worked on this design further taking out the pencil illustration and having the I as the regular character. i created two versions of this with a slight addition of horzontal lines on the bottom logo to segregate the name from the profession. I thought this logo worked well, however a couple of others within the group feared that it looked like a juice drink logo again.
In the end we decided to go with a logo that Ant designed which still had a reference to the lime visual however It wasn't so strong.

OFFICE EXPANSION AND TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

LARGER OFFICE IN LEEDS WHICH WE WILL MOVE TO IN THE THIRD YEAR.
This office space is much more spacious than the previous one at Tower works, doubling in size. It is also in another creative location, on sovereign street surrounded by other creative business such as twentysix digital, a successful online design studio. The studio is still in good reach of the town centre, and has the same benefits that attracted us to Tower works.
The other option would be to move to one of the new office spaces on Queen street which benefit from large glass windows, great for designers, whom work better in lighter conditions. The offices also boost double space spaces compared to the previous location at Tower works.
